Professional
An organisation particular to a profession, usually non-profit refers to a professional organisation or a professional body or professional association or a professional society. Professional organisations aim to protect both the public interest and the interests of professionals. Among the other roles of professional organisations include control and oversight of the practice of the occupation, safeguard the public interest, represent the interest of the professional practitioners, and act to maintain their own privileged and powerful position as a controlling body. In addition, the professional organisation of each profession has its own set of standards and guidelines governing the body and is also involved in the development and monitoring of professional educational programs, and the updating of skills, etc.
