Initial Public Offerings
An initial public offering (IPO), shortly coined as a ‘public offering’, is the first stock of the company being offered to the public. This would be the first time that common shares are being issued for the public. The IPO is often the way or the action of smaller and younger companies for purposes of seeking capital and eventually have the funds to expand their operations and market. Nevertheless, bigger companies still do IPOs when they decide to go for and venture into public trading.
