In advertising, the goal is to attract the most number of customers and new clients. The best advertising materials are those that attract the attention of the consumer to even read and get to know what that company or business is selling. Colourful and flashy advertisements do get the attention of most people; but if consumers get these every minute of the day, they would probably be used to the fanfare and might even snub these highly expensive ploys. A twist to the boring or too flashy adverts is to inject humour into the message and material. With a humorous flavour added to the advertising, consumers are drawn subconsciously to them; and at the same time, consumers are entertained in the process. People do appreciate a laugh or two once in awhile. With funny slogans and commercials, there is higher retention of the product or service when advertised in a humorous manner.
