Consumer Economy
The part of the economy that is directed at end consumers rather than the government refers to consumer economy. Some would specifically define consumer economy as an economy that consumes only and does not produce. However, economists’ original idea of consumer economy was that “to make a producer economy consume all that can be produced by full employment, by stimulating demand beyond real needs.” Further, consumer economy organisations are geared towards establishing a wider economy, especially if the purchaser is involved. In a business sense, a consumer economy “must avoid satisfying demand, because if people already have what they want they wouldn’t keep consuming enough to provide full employment.”
